I’m originally from North Devon but moved to Brighton in 2011 to start my career as a Graphic Designer after graduating from Falmouth University in Cornwall.

On 6th October 2014 mine and my family’s lives changed forever when my beautiful mum was in a road traffic accident.  Devastatingly, she passed away the next day from her resulting brain injuries.  Mum had signed up to be an organ donor a few years earlier and was always vocal about her wishes. So when the time came we knew we were making the right decision to donate her organs; it is what she would have wanted.

Mum’s organs went on to save and improve the lives of five people. At such a tragic and heart wrenching time her organ donation gave us some light relief, knowing that something good can come out of a horrible incident. We think about the people that received her organs all the time and hope they are living their lives to the full.

I was so inspired by my mum that I wanted to do as much as I could to raise awareness and encourage as many people as possible to join the organ donor register. My mum really is a hero; I am so proud of her and proud to be part of the LLGL team.
